Immediate opening for an Associate Attorney in San Bernardino, CA who possesses:

  • 3 to 8 years of civil litigation experience in an employment law background
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • 3-8 years of trial experience

FULL DESCRIPTION:We are seeking an Associate Attorney to support civil litigation matters with a focus on employment law. This hybrid role is responsible for managing cases, preparing court filings and pleadings, analyzing legal issues and defenses, handling discovery, assessing damages claims, and working collaboratively with attorneys and legal staff at all levels. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, trial experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to provide guidance and support within a team environment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing civil litigation cases with a focus on employment law matters
  • Preparing motions, oppositions, replies, and other court pleadings
  • Analyzing legal issues, exposure, risks, and defenses
  • Preparing and responding to written discovery
  • Assessing damages claims
  • Conducting legal research and drafting related memoranda, pleadings, and correspondence as needed
  • Supporting trial preparation and litigation strategy
  • Negotiating effectively on behalf of clients
  • Working as part of a legal team with attorneys and staff at all levels of experience
  • Providing leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys as needed
  • Maintaining strong communication with clients, team members, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Upholding ethical standards and professional responsibilities in all legal practices

The selected candidate will also possess:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required
  • Admission to the state bar association and good standing required
  • 3 to 8 years of civil litigation experience required
  • Employment law background required
  • 3+ years of trial experience required
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, case priorities, and competing responsibilities
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards in all legal practices
  • Ability to work in a hybrid role supporting matters in San Bernardino, CA

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods while reviewing case materials, drafting documents, and managing correspondence
  • Ability to communicate by phone, email, video meeting, and in person throughout the workday
  • Ability to review legal documents, pleadings, discovery, court filings, and computer screens for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout an office or courtroom setting as needed
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office files, legal documents, and related materials

Salary Range: $140,000 to $190,000/year
