Assistant Project Specialist
Akron, OH
12 month contract

Job Description:

  • Ensure the accounting compliance of Transmission cost collectors.
  • Determine correct asset ownership and incorporate in the development of the project accounting.
  • Navigate, investigate, and interpret asset ownership utilizing multiple client systems and help ensure the systems are aligned. Report any discrepancies.
  • Determine correct project accounting settlement rules relating to Operating Companies, voltage, capital, removal, and O&M of project accounting.
  • Support the financial forecasting group with project accounting issues, CIAC (make the necessary system entries to ensure accurate posting)
  • Support the Transmission Portfolio Development group by creating project accounting and work orders in SAP for projects approved in the Transmission Portfolio.
  • Confirm that the correct accounting and work orders are mapped to the appropriate project.
  • Run master data queries; ensure the integrity of the Master Data in SAP and PowerPlan is accurate; make the necessary modifications as required.
  • Request new project locations in the client's system for proper work order creation, tracking, and unitization.
  • Support ad hoc research of accounting and work orders.
  • Support the monthly financial reporting process.
  • Support Transmission Forecast Tool.
  • Collaborate with the Transmission Business Services, FERC & Wholesale, Asset Management, and Distribution companies.
  • Provide project accounting reviews for Project Managers in support of releasing projects into execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in business, accounting, communications, construction management or related degree and some experience or Associate Degree and min 2 years of experience Required or High School Diploma/GED and min 4 years related experience is Required.
  • (Bachelor's degree in Finance or related discipline highly preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills

Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
