Assembler and Software Provisioner

An Assembler and Software Provisioner is a hybrid role common in electronics manufacturing, hardware production, and telecommunications.

This role is responsible for both the physical assembly of hardware devices and the installation, configuration, and flashing of internal software or firmware before final deployment.

We are seeking a meticulous and tech-savvy Assembler and Software Provisioner to join our production team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical manufacturing and software deployment. You will be responsible for manually building or modifying complex hardware components, followed immediately by installing, updating, and provisioning the essential software or firmware required for operation. The ideal candidate possesses strong manual dexterity, an eye for mechanical detail, and a solid understanding of basic operating systems and network settings.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Assembly & Mechanics

• Assemble intricate mechanical, electrical, and electronic components following technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Utilize precision hand and power tools to securely fit hardware enclosures and internal circuit boards.
• Perform physical quality checks to ensure all wiring, fasteners, and modules are aligned to exact dimensional and structural specifications.
• Identify and isolate mechanical defects or missing parts in the raw inventory before beginning production lines.

Software Provisioning & Configuration

• Flash, load, and configure operating systems, firmware patches, and custom software packages onto assembled hardware units.
• Initialize device settings, including configuring network parameters based on customer profiles.
• Execute automated script sequences to provision profiles across batch orders efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and debug software initialization errors, corrupted firmware boots, or connectivity blocks to minimize unit downtime.

Testing, Quality Assurance & Operations

• Run post-assembly functional tests using specialized diagnostic software to verify integrated hardware-software performance.
• Log and document production data, tracking software version loads, hardware serial numbers, and test results into company manufacturing software.
• Package and label provisioned devices correctly with relevant hardware asset tags and addresses for final shipping.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and ESD-compliant (Electrostatic Discharge) workstation environment.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Attributes

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or vocational training certificate.
• Experience: 1-3 years in hardware manufacturing, electronics assembly, or IT/bench tech roles.
• Manual Dexterity: Exceptional hand-eye coordination for handling delicate wires and small component blocks.
• Technical Literacy: Proficient with basic command-line interfaces, software installation steps, and file transfer systems.
• Visual Precision: Strong eyesight and color vision to properly identify color-coded wiring schemas.
• Stamina: Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs and work while standing or sitting for long production stretches.

Preferred Attributes

• Certifications: CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, or foundational electronics assembly certifications (IPC-A-610).
• Scripting Knowledge: Familiarity with basic scripting environments (e.g., Python, Bash) to run automated deployment tools.
