Seeking a motivated and personable Advertising Sales Representative to help grow advertising revenue across our print and internet publications serving the Greater Hartford community.

This position is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys building relationships with local businesses, identifying marketing opportunities, and working in a fast-paced media environment.

The official playbill for Broadway musicals presented at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford, reaching audiences attending approximately ten Broadway productions annually.

The Hartford News

A weekly community newspaper featuring local news, events, and community coverage in both English and Spanish. In addition to the weekly newspaper, the company produces special editions and event programs for parades, music festivals, cultural celebrations, and other major Hartford events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and advertisers
• Prospect and secure new advertising accounts
• Manage advertising sales for newspaper editions, event programs, and theater playbills
• Meet sales goals and revenue targets
• Prepare advertising proposals and contracts
• Coordinate with clients regarding ad placement and deadlines
• Represent the Bushnell Prompter at community events and business functions

Qualifications

• Sales experience preferred, especially in advertising, media, marketing, or business development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts
• Comfortable with prospecting and cold calling
• Organized, dependable, and goal-oriented
• Familiarity with the Hartford business community is a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required

Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary plus commissions, offering strong earning potential for motivated candidates.
