Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist - Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage) in Melville, NYFull-Time Short-Term Contract (3-4 Months)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Pay: $20-$25/hour
A well-established organization in the Melville, NY area is seeking an
Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to provide coverage during a maternity leave. This is a
short-term, fast-paced contract opportunity where you'll step in quickly and play a key role in maintaining daily AR operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work, can ramp up quickly, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process and apply incoming payments (ACH, credit cards, wires, and checks)
- Perform cash application and data entry within the AR function
- Assist with reporting and reconciliation tasks
- Provide internal customer service support to cross-functional teams
- Manage documentation, including scanning and distributing reports
- Support general departmental needs to ensure continuity during coverage
Required:- 2-5+ years of Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience processing high-volume transactions (approx. 100 invoices/week)
- Proficiency in Excel (spreadsheets, basic reporting, data organization)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle or similar)
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
